Mary Jane Grieco Lammers Bruzek, 88, of Lynchburg, VA, died Saturday, May 31, 2014. She was the wife of Joseph Victor Bruzek for 36 years.
Born Monday, September 21, 1925 in Meriden, Connecticut, Jane was a daughter of the late Francis Grieco and Anne Stoltmann Grieco. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Thomas Lammers and her twin brother Francis Grieco.
In addition to her husband, Jane is survived by her son: Francis X Lammers and his wife Lorna of Port Washington, NY; and grandchildren: Kristy, Meaghan, Casandra and Michele. Additionally, Jane is survived by stepchildren, Grace Finn and husband Jim of Oswego, NY, David Bruzek and wife Brenda of Seminole, FL, and Raymond Bruzek and wife Doris of Forest, VA; and grandchildren: Kevin, Mary, Christine, Steven, Stephanie, Joseph and Thomas.
Jane attended Catholic school in Meriden, Connecticut and graduated from Bentley College in Boston with a degree in Accounting at a time when women were not very well received in that discipline, but she persevered.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, June, 5, 2014 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will follow at noon, with Msgr. Michael McCarren officiating.
