Mary Lou Beasley Cox

Mary Lou Beasley Cox, 93, of Virginia Beach and formerly of Lynchburg, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023.
Born on July 19, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Robert Otis Beasley and Louise White Beasley. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Levell Cox; her son, Brian Glenn Cox; and her sister, Joan Beasley Duckworth.
Mary Lou graduated from Brookville High School in 1948 and completed nursing school at Virginia Baptist Hospital, graduating as a Registered Nurse. She was a loving and generous mother, person and friend. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lynchburg for many years.
Mary Lou is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Scott Warren of Virginia Beach; her daughter-in-law, Catherine Tirr of California; three grandsons, Nicholas Cox of California, and Dylan Warren and James Warren of Virginia Beach; and numerous other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 21, at Tharp Funeral Home. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 22, in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
Those wishing to make memorials may consider the American Cancer Society or the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad.
