Mary Louise McDilda, 68, of Moneta, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Thursday, February 4, 2010 in Bedford Memorial Hospital. Born December 23, 1941 in Washington, DC a daughter of Nellie Inez Gray Nichols and the late Robert Thomas Nichols.
Lou was a member of East Gate Church of the Nazarene in Roanoke and the Roanoke Red Hat Society. She enjoyed cooking and sewing, but, above all, she loved her church and family.
In addition to her mother, Lou is survived by her husband of 22 years, Dwight Craig McDilda; three sons, Robin Kegley of Roanoke, Tim Kegley and his wife, Marlene of NC and Andy Kegley and his wife, Robin of North Carolina; four grandchildren, Katie Kegley, Danielle Kegley, Jake Kegley and Josh Kegley; a twin sister, Elizabeth Cockrell and her husband, Robert of Vinton; a brother and sister-in-law, Art and Olga McDilda of Moneta; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM, Monday, February 8, 2010 at Lotz Funeral Home, Vinton with a celebration of Lou\"™s life to begin at 6 PM with Pastor George Stevenson officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Glen Kirk Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Waynesboro. Arrangements by Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford, 586-3443.
