Mary Mayo Blanks

Mary Mayo Blanks, 82, of Amherst County, died Monday, November 7, 2016.
Mary was born November 6, 1934 in Amherst County a daughter of the late Lee Howell Blanks and Elizabeth Hawkins Blanks. Mary was retired as a Medical Technologist, having worked for over 30 years in Baltimore, Tennessee, West Virginia and finally at the Central Virginia Training Center.
Mary is survived by her life partner of 41 years, Geneva R. Norris of Amherst County, her dear friends: Ray and Linda Holdren, Roberta Martin, Eddie “Stix” Shipman, Norman “Butch” Carson, and her beloved cat ‘Grady’, and many other special friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Roman Martin and JoAnne Blanks Snoddy.
The family will hold a private memorial service for Mary at a later date.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Fairmont Crossing Rehabilitation Center, Centra Health, Centra Hospice, CVS of Amherst, and Team Nurse of Madison Heights.
