Mary Alice Mays

Mary Alice Mays, 83, of Forest, Virginia passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023. She was the loving wife of the late Ted “Billy” Mays. Mary was born on December 28, 1939, in North Carolina to the late Roscoe Sheets and Vee Ola Sheets.

She was a member of Brookhill Wesleyan Church and worked at Strothers Drug company for 17 years. Mary enjoyed shopping and gardening. She was devoted to her family and will be missed by all who knew her.  

Mary is survived by her children, Robert Mays and Susan Wright, and husband Tommy; grandson, Brent Wright; brother, Jerry Sheets; sister, Anna Lee Sadler; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mary is preceded in death by her sisters, Jeanette Buterbaugh and Linda Sue Sheets; nephews, Mark Sadler, Danny Sadler, and Mike Buterbaugh.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Brookhill Wesleyan Church in Mary’s name. The family would like to give a special thank you to Centra Hospice, The Healing Hearts Group, and additional family & friends during this difficult time.

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Brookhill Wesleyan Church. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Brian Cook officiating. Interment will follow at Virginia Memorial Park.
