Mary (Molly) Clark Reed

Mary (Molly) Clark Reed, 74, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2012. She was the wife of Jerry Thornton Reed. Mary was preceded in death by her parents Vincent Clark, Sr. and Lois Perkins Clark McKenna.

 Molly was a retired receptionist from Forest Family Physicians. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church.

 In addition to her husband, Molly is survived by two sons: Jeffrey Shelton and his wife, Stacy of Sydney, Australia, Kevin Shelton and his wife, Heather, of Fisherville; two daughters: Michelle Shelton of Roanoke, and Valerie Shelton of Boone, NC; a stepdaughter, Kim Napier of Lynchburg: a stepson; Tim Reed of WA; three granddaughters; Jessica, Jenna, and Ashton Shelton, of Australia; a sister: Lois Lucille Shelton of Forest; two brothers: Vincent J. Clark, Jr. and his wife, Evelyn of Radford, and Charles Milton Clark and his wife, Diane, of Lynchburg; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great- nephews.

 Molly was passionate about country music, camping, and going to the beach.  She was an avid reader, and especially enjoyed Danielle Steel novels.

 A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 1, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Tharp Funeral Home, 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg. A memorial service will be conducted Thursday, August 2, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Tharp Funeral Home , with the Rev. Marge Anderson officiating.   Interment will follow at Fort Hill Cemetery.
