Mary Padgett Gillette

Mary \"Sissy\" Padgett Gillette, 85, of Lynchburg went to be with her Lord Tuesday October 9, 2012.

She was the loving wife of the late George Robert Gillette. Sissy was born July 13, 1927 in Lynchburg a daughter of the late Carl Brown Padgett and Maggie Scruggs Padgett. She was a devoted homemaker and faithful member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Lynchburg.

She is survived by her son Glenn R. Gillette and his wife Judy of Lynchburg, her daughter Carolyn G. Mills and her husband Randy of Lynchburg, two granddaughters: Candace Gillette Campbell and her husband Blake of Jacksonville, NC and Sabrina Mills Fellers and her husband Brad of Goode, and three great grandchildren: Kailey Fellers, Cassie Fellers, and Declan Campbell. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, James Brown Padgett and Carl David Padgett.

A Celebration of Sissy\"™s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday October 12, 2012 at Tharp Funeral Home chapel in Lynchburg with the Rev. Gary Vernon officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the chapel. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
