Mary Shields
Mary Ann Woodlief Shields, 72, of Bedford, VA, passed away on August 9, 2010 at Virginia Baptist Hospital in Lynchburg.
Mary Ann was born December 10, 1937 in Lynchburg a daughter of the late John Calvin Woodlief and Martha Ann Duty Woodlief. Mary Ann was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Bedford.
In addition to her parents Mary Ann was preceded in death by her daughter Caroline Shields.
Mary Ann is survived by her daughter, Patricia Horne and her husband, Charles, of Spencer, West Virginia, two sons, Duncan (Butch) F. Shields, Jr., of Bedford, and Donald Shields and his wife, Kimberly, of Evington, a sister Diane Taylor of Rustburg, three grandchildren, Sebrena Horne, Justin Hall, and Donald H. Shields.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. tonight August 10, 2010 at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday August 11, 2010 in Presbyterian Cemetery with Pastor Vernon DeLong officiating.
