Mary Alice Myers West

Mrs. Mary Alice West (Maybird), a beacon of unwavering faith and boundless love, peacefully departed from this world on Wednesday evening, March 6, 2024, at her Trojan Road, Madison Heights residence. Surrounded by her beloved family, Mary embraced her eternal rest, guided by her steadfast trust in her Heavenly Father.

Born on February 28, 1943, to the late Walter and Edith Myers, Mary leaves behind a legacy of devotion and kindness that will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched. She is survived by her cherished husband of 63 years, Franklin West Sr., and her seven devoted children: Franklin Jr. (Phyllis), Shelia West-Whitfield (Anthony), Philip (Michelle), Tony (Jessica), Denice West, Bernice Moore (David), and Eric (Shana). One sister, Eloise Miller (Elder Charles Miller, Jr.); three brothers, Marvin C. Myers (Rita), Walter Myers (Stella), and Minister John Myers (Alma); a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Mary’s life epitomized service and love, reflected in her dedicated membership in the First Church of Jesus in Altavista and her unwavering commitment to her family. She embraced her roles as wife, mother, grandmother, and sister with boundless love, creating a home where laughter and warmth flourished.

As a co-owner of multiple businesses, Mary’s tireless work ethic and compassionate nature touched the lives of countless children and colleagues. Whether nurturing young minds or leading by example in her business endeavors, Mary’s impact was profound and enduring.

While Mary’s physical presence may be absent, her spirit remains eternally present in the hearts of all who knew her. Her memory will be cherished, and her legacy of love and service will continue to inspire future generations.
