Mason Henry Dye

Mason H. Dye, died June 1st, 2011 at his home in Wirtz, VA following a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Dye \"Mace\" was born on April 26th, 1945. He graduated from Wellsville High School in 1963. In 1964 he married his one true love Pamela Quinn Dye of Belmont, NY.  He worked and owned Arnoys and Dye Auto Parts Store along with family and friends for several years in Wellsville, NY. He retired in 2000 and moved to Smith Mountain Lake in 2001 where he enjoyed boating, cooking, friends and family. He was a long time member of the Dyke St. Hose Co in Wellsville, NY. He is survived by his wife, Pamela, their beloved children, Kevin (Alicia Cornell) Dye, Wellsville, NY, Jeff (Nancy) Dye, Jonesville, VA, and Nicole (Ben Schultz) Dye, Moneta, VA, and his sister, Phyllis (Charlie) Baker, Wellsville, NY. He is also survived by his adored grandchildren, Tanner Dye, Reagan and Danielle Meyers, Austin and Briar Dye and Ashleigh Miller. He is further survived by many loving in-laws including Patricia and Robert Molnar and Geri and William Ford, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, June and Russell Dye. A memorial service will take place on Smith Mountain Lake amongst the Blue Ridge Mountains and in Wellsville, NY at a later announce date/time. His family requests that in lieu of flowers charities be sent to Good Samaritan Hospice (Rocky Mount, VA) or Franklin County Rescue Squad.
