Maude Elizabeth Wilson

Maude Elizabeth Wilson 62, of Lynchburg, Virginia departed this life on November 5, 2021, at Lynchburg General Hospital.  She was born in Lynchburg, Virginia on September 4, 1959, to the late Wyatt Nathaniel “Baby Ned” Wilson and the late Christine Beasley Huggins.

Maude was also preceded in death by one brother: Herbert J. Marshall Sr., and three sisters: Emmeline D. Wilson, Harriett V. (Honey) Woodson, and Carolyn J. Peoples (of California).

Maude is survived by her three daughters and a great niece: Virginia C. Wilson (Ginny), Sandra L. Fleshman (Louise), Vinzella I. Wilson-Fleshman, and Samira L. Wilson (of Georgia). She leaves behind her five grandchildren: Shyanne Fleshman-Cameron, Santos Wilson-Floyd, Sanchez Wilson-Dodson, Alwan Mosby, and Clarence Mosby III. And she also leaves behind her two great-grandchildren: Na’Siah Fleshman and Nyaomi Fleshman.

Maude also leaves behind her two brothers and four sisters: Frank Mack (Shannon), Gralynn Mack, Queen Beasley, Francis Beasley, Christine Beasley, and Catherine Beasley. She also leaves behind her great-uncle Harry Mack (of California) and her great-aunt Evelyn Beasley.

Maude leaves behind a big host of nieces, nephews, cousins, numerous children she helped raise over the years, as well as many devoted friends.

Maude was known as “Big Mama” to many of her loved ones. She had a big heart of gold. She was a loving, kind-hearted, and caring mother to her children, family, and friends. She was a devoted homemaker. Maude will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

A visitation will be held Thursday November 18, 2021, from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg. A celebration of life will be held Friday 1:00 pm November 19, 2021, at the Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg Chapel.

Interment will follow the service at Forest Hill Burial Park.

Due to Covid-19 Precautions everyone will be required to wear a mask attending the visitation and service. Donations and cards can be sent to: Wilson Family, P.O. Box 12273, Lynchburg, Virginia 24506.
