Melinda Denise Ramsey, 45, of Lynchburg, passed Tuesday, May 30, 2017.
Born Wednesday, February 16, 1972 in Lynchburg, Melinda was a daughter of Bryant E. Ramsey and Joyce Rogers Ramsey, of Madison Heights.
Melinda was preceded in death by a sister, Dianne Ramsey.
In addition to her mom and dad, Melinda is survived by her fiancé, Mike Capps, of Lynchburg; a daughter, Mandy (Burks) Campbell and her husband, Logan Campbell, of Madison Heights; a son, Michael Sperberg, of Bedford; three grandchildren, Khloe, Arabella, and Cayden; a brother, Rick Ramsey and his wife, Jeannie, of Forest; a sister, Sharon Ramsey, of Madison Heights; Mike’s mom and dad, Jessie and Darnell Capps, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Melinda loved her children and her family. She was a head strong person, who did things her way. She lived for today and did not care about yesterday or what could happen tomorrow. She always put the needs of others first, and was known for her ability to make people laugh. She loved doing crafts, country music and her pets.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A celebration of Melinda’s life will follow at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017 in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg with Pastor Mike Hewitt and Pastor Dale Long officiating. Interment will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 4, 2017 in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
