Melvin Cecil “Bud” Fauber of Forest, VA, died on June 20, 2015. He was the husband of Sarah Harvey “Sue” Fauber for 65 years.
Born in Roanoke, VA, May 30, 1929, he was a son the late Massie Fauber and Mary Frances Carpenter Fauber. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Elizabeth Brandon, Audrey “Peggy” Campbell and Louise Beverley of Lynchburg, VA; and one brother Dorris Fauber of Cape Charles, VA.
He retired from Bell Atlantic with 43 years of service. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Wanda Lowery and husband Jimmy of Savannah, Ga. and Yvonne Staton of Lynchburg; two grandchildren, James Michael Lowery of Savannah, Ga. and Karter Elizabeth Staton of Lynchburg. He is also survived by two brothers, Bernard Fauber and wife Darlene of Pauma Valley, Calif., and Fred Fauber and wife Dolores of Lynchburg, Va.
The family will receive friends at Tharp Funeral Home of Lynchburg, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2015.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2015 in the Chapel of Tharp Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
