Melvin Lee Rice

Melvin Lee Rice, 76, of Lynchburg, Virginia went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 23, 2024.   Son of the late Beverly James Rice, Sr, and Girlie Ray Rice Simpson.  Husband of Lana Allen Rice for 25 years.

In addition to his wife, Melvin is survived by his daughter, Lisa Rice-Lassiter (James); two stepdaughters, Lori Boyer (Craig) and Tamara Leigh; grandchildren, Tommy Olsen (Savanna), Jackson Leigh and Justin Regan; sister, Brenda Rice Stark; along with 14 nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by his parents and siblings Emily Rice DeMente (Charles), Linda Carol Cooke (Joseph) and Beverly James Rice, Jr.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 30th, 2024, at 12 P.M. at Tharp Funeral Home in Lynchburg, Virginia. A visitation will be held one hour prior. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery in Lynchburg, Virginia.
