Mila Swain

Mila Swain, 66, transitioned this life on Friday, August 25, 2017 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Leon Swain, Sr. Mila was a daughter of the late Rev. Herbert Hoover White, Sr. and Mary E. Austin White.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by two children, Conswella Swain and Leon Swain, Jr. (Chantia); three devoted sisters, Myra W. Hamlette, Helena Swain, and Alisa Pennix; one brother, Herbert White, Jr. (Pat); six grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and her church family.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, 4644 Lee Jackson Highway, Lynchburg, Bedford County. Her remains will lie in repose at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg on Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. and Friday, September 1, 2017 from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., and at Antioch Baptist Church Saturday, September 2, 2017 one hour prior to the service.
