Mildred Bennett Shelton

Mildred Bennett Shelton, 101, of Madison Heights, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2021. She was the widow of Cpl. William F. Shelton, her lifetime love to whom she was married for 67 years.
Mildred was born March 4, 1919 in Sandy Level, Va. To the late Henry Coleman Bennett and the late Mae Davis Bennett. Also preceding her in death are her sisters Dorothy Bennett Teaman and Dotty Harding; and her brother H.C. Bennett and his wife, Dot.
Surviving are a daughter Diane Shelton Flowers and her husband, Joseph, of Crewe, Va.; a son Greg Shelton and his fiancée, Koren, of Nags Head, N.C.; grandchildren Robert Russell Davis (Lori) of Farmville, Va. and William Henry Davis of New York, N.Y.; great-grandchildren Taylor Manning Davis, Bryce C. Davis (Nicole), Andrew B. Davis, and Hayden C. Davis, all of Farmville, Va.; and brothers-in-law Glen Teaman and Chuck Harding and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was lovingly known by her children and grandchildren as “BeBe.”
Due to COVID-19, the family will hold a private graveside service.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
