Mildred Frances Wilkerson Arrington

Mildred Frances Wilkerson Arrington, 93, of Bedford, died on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at English Meadows formerly Elks National Home. She was born March 16, 1921 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Walter Holcomb Wilkerson and Hettie James Wilkerson.
Mildred was a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. She worked as a nursing assistant in the medical field up until her retirement.
In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Ellis Arrington; a son, Kenneth O. Arrington; three brothers, John W. Wilkerson, Atwell H. “Nat” Wilkerson, and Walter Carlton Wilkerson; and a sister, June W. Mens. She is survived by three children, Ellis C. Arrington and his wife, Mary, Lynwood E. Arrington and his wife, Sandra, and Barbara A. Abbott and her husband, Wayne; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Mildred’s life will be conducted 11 AM, Tuesday, December 15, 2014, at Tharp Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Boyles officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hermon Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Monday, December 14, 2014 at Tharp Funeral Home.
