Mildred Joyce Driskill Knight, 92, of Lynchburg passed away Monday, February 25, 2019.
Born August 8, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Samuel B. Driskill Sr., and Della Steele Driskill.
Joyce was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister and enjoyed spending time with all of her family. She took great pride in her home and yard and was a wonderful cook.
Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ernest Knight Jr., son, Terry Knight; daughters, Reny Knight and Libby Knight; and siblings, Berkley Driskill, Kenneth Driskill, and Janet Wright.
She is survived by her daughters, Daronda Brooks and husband, C.W. and Debbie Martin and husband, Roger; grandchildren, Daronda Richardson (Clay), Ryan Martin (Darnell), Wade Brooks (Melissa), Ben Brooks (Tab), and Kelley Sanders (Justin); great grandchildren, Sierra, Steele, Amber, Kelly, Randi, Tristan, Gabriel, Maggie, Julia, Charlie, Chloe, and Dallas; her great great grandchildren, Cadance, Kristan, Karissa, Karson, Jaxon, and Scarlett; sister, Barbara Almond and husband Mac; brother in law Otis Wright, and her special niece and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg. A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Concord Cemetery in the Knight family plot with Pastor Mac Almond officiating.
