Mildred Padgett Burdick

Mildred Padgett Burdick of Lynchburg, died Friday, July 4, 2014. Twice widowed, she was the wife of the late Carl David Padgett and the late Tyler D. Burdick.
Millie was born in Bland County, VA, a daughter of the late Hampton Burton Stump and Thelma Dove Stump. She was a retired District Manager for the C & P Telephone Company. Millie was active in her community and was a member of the Lynchburg Art Club and Fairview Christian Church.
She is survived by two special nieces: Donna Pribble and Lisa Hailey both of Rustburg, three nieces and one nephew, numerous great nieces and great nephews, and a brother-in-law Fred Almond of Rustburg.
In addition to her two husbands and parents she was preceded in death by two brothers: Charles and Junior Stump and one sister Catherine Almond.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday July 7, 2014 at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg and all other times at her niece’s residence: 65 Shannon Forest Dr. Rustburg.
A Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday July 8, 2014 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Gary Vernon officiating.
