Milton Reed Fore, Sr.

Milton Reed Fore, Sr., 89, of Lynchburg died Monday May 31, 2010 he was the devoted husband of the late Gladys McCraw Fore for 62 loving years.

Milton was born June 18, 1920 in Charlotte County the son of the late Daniel Milton Fore and Wyckcliffe Hamlett Fore. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a Gunner\"™s Mate and was a long time member of Parkview United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School. Milton was a professional grocer by trade and was the owner of Milts Market for many years.

He is survived by his son Milton Reed Fore, Jr. and his wife Gloria of Lynchburg, a sister Verna Falwell of Forest, two grandchildren Milton Reed Fore, III, and Aaron Allen Fore, and two great grandchildren Davis Reed Fore and Simone Elizabeth Fore.

In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a sister Dorothy Carmichael and a brother Samuel Pax Fore.

A visitation will be held from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday June 3, 2010 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday June 4, 2010 in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home with the Rev. C. Douglas Pillow officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park with military honors to be performed by American Legion Post #16.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Kennie Dickson and Phyllis Lang for all their love, care, and support, and his devoted companion \"Hannah\".
