Milton "Sonny" Hayes Staples

Milton “Sonny” Hayes Staples, 85, of Forest, died Monday, January 1, 2018. He was the husband of Norma St. John Staples for 65 years.
Sonny was born July 5, 1932 in Lynchburg, a son of the late Cecil O. Staples and Lydia Guill Staples. Sonny honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was retired as a professional truck driver. He was also a member of Fairview United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children: Bruce D. Staples (April) of Lynchburg, Gregory S. Staples of Phoenix, AZ, Michelle Carter (Jimmy) of Bedford, and C. Todd Staples of Anaheim, CA, three grandchildren: Kasie S. Barmore of Gulfport, MS, Christy G. Unroe and Brandon D. Staples both of Lynchburg, six great-grandchildren: Elijah and Carter Barmore, Kaden and Keirstin Unroe, Bryson and Breelyn Staples.
At Sonny’s request, memorial services will be held privately.
