Minnie Flora Comer

Minnie Flora Arthur Comer, 92, of Bedford, VA passed away at the Carilion Bedford Memorial Hospital on Friday, March 30, 2012. She was born on July 8, 1919 to Harry Cephus and Elizabeth Campbell Arthur. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Earnest Nelson Comer and a daughter, Dale Annette Comer Smith and a grandson, Justin Wade Surface; two brothers, Harry Earle and Robert Samuel \"Sam\" Arthur and a sister, Helen Grishaw.

Minnie is survived by a daughter, Earnestine Stevens, a son, Nelson Comer and his wife, Rosemary of Bedford, VA; a son, Gene Comer and his wife, Cathy of Roanoke, VA; a daughter, June Surface and her husband, Jerry of Bedford, VA and a daughter, Dorothy Hodges and her husband, Dexter of Rocky Mount, VA; four grandchildren, William Comer, Daniel Surface and his wife, Ashley, Catherine Peery and her husband, Ben and Elizabeth Smith; three great-grandchildren, Alexia Surface, Alexander Peery and Aurora Peery; three sisters, Jane Arthur of Roanoke, VA, Annie Keyes of Bedford, VA and May Hancock of Rustburg, VA.

The Family will receive friends on Monday, April 2, 2012 at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Mt. Olivet Southern Baptist Church with Pastor Marc Reynolds officiating.
