Minnie Tomlin Oliver, 96, formerly of Big Island, Va., died Monday, December 12, 2016.
She was born, April 2, 1920 in Amherst, Va. the daughter of the late Linwood Tomlin and Josie Tomlinson Tomlin.
Minnie was retired from the Craddock-Terry Hotel and was member of Temple Baptist Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Donna L. Tucker of Middle River, MD and Robin D. Faris(Ron) of North Chesterfield, Va.; two grandsons, Frederick Lindsay (Christina) and Nathaniel Tucker (Spriha); two great-grandsons, Kaleb Borden and Alexander Lindsay; sisters, Donnie, Hester and Audrey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Grover, Larney, Edward, Jessie and Jerry; a sister, Pearl.
A Celebration of Minnie’s Life take place at Tharp Funeral Home’s Lynchburg Chapel on Friday, December 16, 2016. The family will receive friends one hour prior at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Cumbie Memorial Cemetery in Rustburg, Va.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
