Mozelle Brightwell Parker

Mozelle Brightwell Parker of Lynchburg died on July 22, 2010.

Born February 13, 1922, in Lynchburg, VA, she was a daughter of the late Edna St. John Brightwell and Edgar W. Brightwell.

Mozelle is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 71 years, Ballard Raymond  Parker, Jr., two sons: Ballard Raymond Parker, III of Richmond, VA and his wife, Betty W. Parker, and Michael Alan Parker of Wake Forest, NC and his wife, Debra J. Parker, two granddaughters, Jennifer P. Everett and husband Michael of Richmond, VA, and Katherine P. Jonas and husband Ritter of Richmond, VA, three grandsons, Michael Aaron Parker and his wife Mary Downing of Richmond, VA , Philip Logan Parker of Cisco Grove, CA, and Matthew Adam Parker of Wake Forest, NC, four great grandchildren: Caroline Everett, and Andrew Everett, of Richmond, VA and Ryley Parker and Brody  Parker, Richmond, VA, a sister Hazel B. Keyes, two nieces Sandra C. Williams, and  Maurine Clingempeel, a nephew, Elwood Clingempeel, all of Lynchburg, VA, as well as an additional three nieces and four nephews.

In addition to her parents Mozelle was preceded in death by two brothers: Robert Edward Brightwell, and Frederick Whitfield Brightwell, and a sister, Louise B. Clingempeel.

Mozelle will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother,  and great grandmother, who was devoted to her family. She loved to work in the yard, whether it was the flower s or the vegetable garden. She was a long time member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where she taught sunday school and was a member of the church circle.  Mozelle was a retired employee of the C.B. Fleet Company.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 am on Monday, July 26 in Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. William B. Russell officiating.
