Ms. Parthenia Hancock Davis

Ms. Parthenia Hancock Davis, 88, of Lynchburg Virginia transitioned from this earthly life on December 7, 2023, at Lynchburg, General Hospital to her eternal home.

Parthenia was born in Prince Edward County to the late Wiley and Cammie Mitchell Hancock. She attended Charlotte County High School. She was baptized and joined White Oak Grove Baptist Church.

She worked at Lynchburg, Hosiery Mills, The Dress House, Craddock & Terry and having mastered her skills in sewing, she became an expert seamstress.

She met and fell in love with Thomas Davis, and for 46 years, they celebrated and cherished that love.

Parthenia was preceded in death by Thomas, her parents, four brothers; Wiley, James, Andrew, and Harold; three sisters, Theresa, Marie and Edith.

She leaves to cherish her memory, sons; Thomas Davis Jr., (Audrey) and Richard Davis (Wendy). Grandkids; Omar Davis, Mia Davis (Marcus) and Thaddeus Davis; great grandkids; Aden, Jolie, Noah, and Jessiah; one brother Hannah Hancock (Cathy); five sisters, Alberta Jennings, Arlene Smith, Ella, Lee, Cammie Hubbard, Josephine Jones, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Celebration of Parthenia’s life will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, December 15, 2023, at Tharp Funeral Home in Lynchburg. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Forest Hill Burial Park.
