Murl Lynion Wright

Murl Lynion Wright, 85, of Forest, died Saturday, June 24, 2017. He was the husband of Phyllis Schmincke Wright for 61 years.
Born December 24, 1931 in Lynchburg, Murl was a son of the late Julius Emmett Wright and the late Pocahontas Scruggs Wright.
Along with his wife, Murl is survived by his daughters, Pamela Clarkson and husband, Barry, of Lynchburg, Vicki Wright of Forest, and Kimberly Cary and husband, Hunt, of Plainfield, Il.; two grandchildren, Brook Cary of Plainfield, Il. and Nathan Clarkson and wife, Jessica, of Lynchburg; and one great-granddaughter, Oliva Clarkson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tiffany Clarkson; five sisters: Mae Bynum, Marilie Hanes, Margaret Proffitt, Eleanor Bryant, and Hazel; and four brothers, Harold Wright, Jack Wright, James Curtis Wright, and Buster Wright.
A graveside service will be held at Virginia Memorial Park on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Bobby Brooks officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.
