Myrtle Mae Matherley Fielder, 92, of Moneta passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Berkshire Health and Rehab. She was born in March 23, 1926 in Penhook, VA. A daughter of the late William Paul Matherley and Ada Crouch Matherley. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Emory Fielder and a son William Paul Fielder.
Myrtle was a member of Morgan’s Baptist Church for almost 40 years. She loved her church and always enjoyed going to Sunday school and church events. Myrtle’s family was her life. She loved to get together for family functions and spending quality time. She also enjoyed yard sales and listening to gospel music. She was loved by so many and will be missed by all that knew her.
Myrtle is survived by her eleven children, Annie Mae Meador, Frances Stevens, Hubert Fielder and wife, Patsy, Mary Hubbard and husband, Donnie, Emily Hurt and husband, Clayton, Nancy Bramlett and husband, Paul, Florence Ayers, Jimmy Fielder, Johnny Fielder, James Fielder and Linda Overstreet and husband, Bryan; 23 grandkids, 31 great-grandkids and two great-great-grandkids.

A funeral service and celebration of Myrtles life will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Morgan’s Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Arthur and Rev. Steve Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Epworth United Methodist Church in Moneta. The family will receive friend from 12:00 noon until 2:00 pm prior to the Service, also at Morgan’s.
