Nancy Anderson Petrich

Nancy Gayle Anderson Petrich, 83, of Lynchburg, VA was born on August 19, 1939 in Lynchburg, VA and passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2023. She will be missed dearly by family, friends, neighbors, and all who had met her.
She was married to the late Raymond George Petrich of Lynchburg, VA for over 37 years.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband and her parents, Robert P. Anderson and Kathleen Watson Anderson Phlegar, and sister Betty Anderson Campbell and her husband Wallace Campbell.
She is survived by her son, Raymond George Petrich II and his fiancé, Diane Steele Moulton and her daughters, Courtney and Angie of Fredericksburg, Virginia; her grandson, Seth Ryan Petrich and his wife, Morgan of Powhatan, Virginia; her brother, Robert Peyton Anderson, II and his wife, Judy of Monroe, Virginia; and nieces and nephews: James, Peyton, Sara, Mark and Amy; and dearest friend and next door neighbor of many years, Gail Kowalski.
Nancy graduated from Amherst County High School and had a long and successful career in the fine jewelry industry where she focused on making her clients smile for over 35 years. But the biggest smile she received was from her future husband Raymond whom she met while on a plane flying to New York for one of her jewelry buying trips which lead to over 37 years of marriage.
She was a long standing member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and current member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Lynchburg, VA.
Nancy was a Board member of the Lynchburg Broadway Theater League where plays were always sold out during her tenure. She also was a volunteer for the local Meals on Wheels and was a former member of the Ragged Robin Garden Club. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and wore her red lipstick and matching nail polish with pride at every event.
She found immense joy in every aspect of life. Her love for animals led her to adopt her cats Minnie and Pearl and current feline friends Bella and Stella. She found great pleasure in watching her son and grandson flying down the slopes at their Massanutten timeshare which she and her husband invested in for over 50 years. Nancy thoroughly enjoyed her brother Robert’s cooking; he made the most amazing meals for her which she loved to share with neighbors and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Lynchburg, VA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lynchburg Humane Society or Meals on Wheels.
