Nancy Blankinship Crance, 79, of Lynchburg went to be with our Lord Wednesday November 7, 2012. She was the loving wife of the late James Daniel \"J.D.\" Crance.
Nancy was born January 9, 1933 in Rustburg a daughter of the late Walter Blankinship and the late Nannie Bailey Blankinship. Nancy was a dedicated homemaker, a devoted wife to her husband, and a loving mother to all her children. She was a member of Fairview Christian Church.
She is survived by her children: Danny \"Chief\" Crance and his wife Brenda of Stuarts Draft; Kathy Crance of Rustburg; Timothy Crance and his wife Anne of Lynchburg; and Ellen Crance-Schley of Rustburg, eight grandchildren: Kevin and Nathan Crance, Holly Keesee, Stephen, Phillip, and Aaron Crance, Kayla Crance, and Dylan Schley, five step-grandchildren: Samantha, Melissa, Autumn, Lauren, and Eric, six great-grandchildren: Gloria, Jacey, Chelsea, Landon, Nathan Jr., and Hailey, and numerous step-great grandchildren, four siblings: Judy Crance and her husband Gerald, Peggy Woody, Gene Blankinship and wife Barbara, and Linda Marr and her husband Don.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Barbara Blankinship, and a brother-in-law Bobby Woody.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday November 9, 2012 at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg and all other times at 2022 Eastbrook Road, Lynchburg.
A Celebration of Nancy\"™s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday November 10, 2012 in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg with the Rev. Jack Hamilton, Rev. Nathanael Habel, and Rev. Hugh Bumgarner officiating. Interment will follow at Cumbie Memorial Cemetery in Rustburg.
