Nancy Burruss Almond, 80, of Evington, VA, left her earthly home for her Heavenly home to join her loving husband, William Hoskins \"Hoss\" Almond on Thursday, January 3, 2013.

Nancy was born on May 19, 1932 in, Lynchburg a daughter of the late Lillian Brown Burruss and the late Joseph Malcolm Burruss.

She is survived by two daughters, Debra Almond Driskill of Forest and Lisa Almond Owens and husband, Darin Owens of Evington; five grandchildren, Shane Driskill, Emily Driskill Moore and husband, Allan, Jesse Driskill, Ryan Mayhew and Dakota Mayhew; three step-grandchildren, Lyndsi, Bradley and Dylan Owens and one sister, Mary B. Greene of NC, two, brothers-in-law, Lowell Thomas Almond and wife, Doris and C. E, Almond and wife, Jackie of TN; and two sisters-in-law, Mae Foster and husband Warren and Ann Lewis; and numerous nieces and nephews.; and a devoted friend, David Beasley, Sr.

Nancy\"™s family would like to thank Centra Hospice and her loving nurse, Paula Hicks, as well as her physician, Dr. Archibald Lord of Medical Associates for all their wonderful care. A very special thank you to her caregiver, Wanda Dagenhart, whom she loved like a daughter.

Nancy was a member of Langhorne Chapel Methodist Church and attended In His Hands Ministries. She was retired from Nationwide Insurance.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg and other times at the residence. A celebration of Nancy\"™s life will be conducted at Tharp Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 7, 2013 at Tharp Funeral Home with Pastor Stewart Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
