Nancy Doss Redwood

Nancy D. Redwood, 53, of Goode, passed away Monday March 14, 2011 with her strong faith and surrounded by her loving family. For a short time she fought a courageous battle with Brain Cancer. Nancy was such a wonderful person, inspiration to so many, and a true mentor to many who needed guidance. She was the loving wife of Barry L. Redwood for 33 years, and the daughter of  S. Glenn Doss and Patricia T. Doss, of Rustburg. Nancy had an unconditional love for her children, grandchildren, and also her little dogs.

Nancy was a longtime member of Chestnut Hill Baptist Church. She loved her church family. She was employed as an Osteoporosis and Radiologist Technologist for over 25 years at Piedmont Orthopedics now the Ortho Center.  Also a member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by; two daughters Christina Redwood, Jennifer Murton and her husband Tommy, their sons, Gaven and Gage, a sister, Janet Sosnowski and husband, Stan and their son Will and a host of other family and dear friends.

The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00pm (today) Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.

Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Thursday March 17, 2011 at Chestnut Hill Baptist Church by the Rev. Randy Bower officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Chestnut Hill Baptist Church Youth Group Fund., 5225 Fort Avenue, Lynchburg, VA 24502.
