Nancy Gaynelle Cox Tuck

Nancy Gaynelle Cox Tuck, 82, of Bedford, passed away at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, on Tuesday, October 4, 2016. She was born on August 8, 1934, the daughter of the late Clarence Albert Cox and Flora Bell Dinkle Cox.

Gaynelle retired from Tharp Funeral Home after many years of serving families in our community, and she was also Co-Founder of Tucks Service Center. She was an Honorary Member and Organizer of the Ladies Auxiliary of Moneta Vol. Fire Dept. She was also the longest living member of Morgan’s Baptist Church where she began singing in the choir when she was 9 years old.  Gaynelle also was the soloist for numerous community events.

Gaynelle is survived by her three children, Ricky Tuck and wife Michelle, Wanda Tuck Richards, and Cindy Tuck; eight grandchildren, Trey, Harmony, Tyler, Dana, Keagan, Kobie, Savannah and Sharee; two great-grandchildren, Marlee and Nyah;  her sister, Jackie Woolwine and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Gaynelle was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Tuck; brothers: Roy C. Cox, John A. Cox and Malcolm R. Cox; sisters in-law, Helen and Matleen Cox; and brother in-law, Wayne C. Woolwine.

A funeral service and celebration of life will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 9, 2016, at Morgan’s Baptist Church with Reverend Jason Arthur and Pastor Steven Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Saturday, October 8, 2016, at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford.
