Nancy Holland Davidson, 83, of Lynchburg, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at the Summit Health and Rehab. Born in Lynchburg on January 22, 1930, she was a daughter of the late John Daniel Holland and the late Dewitte Bomar Holland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a loving sister, Louise Holland Epperson.
Nancy is survived by one son, Michael Edward Davidson and wife, Michelle of Lynchburg and one daughter, Teresa Louise Vanhorn and husband, Kevin of Salem; a devoted sister, June Holland Wooding of Painesville, OH; three grandchildren, Merrick Sutton Davidson, Michael Jena Davidson and husband, Brian and Phillip O\"™Dell; a special niece, Jane E. Roark and husband, John of Lynchburg, a special nephew, Dan D. Epperson and wife, Judith of Forest, and a former daughter-in-law, Bernice Arrington Davidson.
Nancy was a graduate of E. C. Glass High School, class of 1947. She worked for Dr. T. O. Roberts, Lynchburg\"™s first oral surgeon, as a dental assistant. She later served as office manager for Lynchburg Family Practice and Dr. Dan Grabeel, DDS. She ended her career as a sales associate at Hecht\"™s.
Nancy\"™s greatest love was for her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, all who adored her. She was always faithful to her Church, many friends and neighbors. She was active in the PTA, and was a teacher\"™s aide at Sheffield Elementary School. Her hobbies were music, reading, cooking, and crossword puzzles.
She was raised and baptized in College Hill Baptist Church and continued to support it over the years. She was a member of and raised her children at Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg with Diane Baldwin, CRE officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorial contributions in Nancy\"™s memory may be made to Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church, 5810 Fort Avenue, Lynchburg, VA 24502.
