Nancy Irene Ramey, 65, passed away on September 20, 2015, at her home in Forest, Va.
She was born on September 26, 1949, in Atlanta, Ga., to the late Lloyd Thomas and Laverna Ruth (Martin) Wiggins. She married Roy Ramey on January 24, 1970, in Independence, Mo. Nancy graduated from the Jennie Lund School of Practical Nursing, Independence, Mo., in 1969, and was a nurse for 31 years before retiring in 2000. Her last position was with Westminster Canterbury. Nancy came to Forest, Va., in 1988, and was a member of Berean Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Mercier and husband Korey of Blacksburg, Va.; son Michael Ramey and wife Tara of Kents Store, Va., and seven grandchildren, Corbin, Asher, and Rowan Mercier; and Hannah, Nathan, Selah, and Andrew Ramey. She is also survived by her brothers, Jerry (Diana) Wiggins, Capitan, N.M., and Martin (Linda) Wiggins, Austin, Texas.
Nancy loved being with her husband, children, and grandchildren, and will be greatly missed. She was a blessing from God to her husband, family, and friends; and was the Sunshine of our home. Nancy was confined to a wheelchair the last several years of her life, but frequently had dreams of running up stairs. Imagine her joy at leaping up them to join her Savior in Heaven.
Graveside services will be conducted at Greenwood Cemetery, Bedford, Va., by Dr. James Freerksen at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, Sept 22.
