Nancy Williams Lane

Nancy Williams Lane, a woman of grace, humor, and love, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2024, in Lynchburg, Virginia. Born on June 28, 1936, in Connellsville, Pennsylvania, to Jack Courtney and Leona McPhail Williams Courtney.

Nancy lived a life filled with beauty and devotion. She was lovingly raised by Arthur Williams and her mother. Nancy was a talented ballerina, attended EC Glass High School and for many years was a devoted member of Court Street United Methodist Church.

She was a loving wife to the late Kenneth Lane, a cherished mother to Jon Shumaker and Rosemary Heusted (deceased), and stepmother to Debbie and Mike Lane. She was a proud grandmother to Jessica Menefee, Lea Montes, Jessie Cassell and her step grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, and beloved daughter. Nancy’s boundless love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of her life will be held at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg VA on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at 11AM
