Nancy Louise Harpe Overstreet, 79, of Bedford passed away on September 22, 2020 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Carl Lee Harpe and Lottie Harrold Harpe. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sons, Robert E. Hensley and James Carl Hensley; daughter, Dedra Alisha Hensley; brothers, Henry B. Harpe, Wesley E. Harpe, Glen F. Harpe, Marvin L. Harpe, John L. Harpe, Ralph J. Harpe; and sisters, Annie Mae Money, Edith Canter, Ruth Parrish and Gladys Sharpe.
Nancy was a very sweet and caring person with a heart of gold. She never asked anyone for anything and never took no for an answer. She always had a solution whenever people confided in her and would do anything to help her family whenever they needed. She lived a long, full life with the people that loved her. She cared so much for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was a huge animal lover and adored her dog Pancake. She enjoyed talking to her friends and family, reading into all hours of the night, taking pictures of the ones she loved, and feeding her family. She started studying with Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1961 and was a devoted member. Her greatest joy was that she would see her children again in the resurrection.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Danette G. Hurt and husband, Brian; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Hensley; grandchildren, Georgia T. Hensley, Charlotte H. Dunham, Fanny A. Hensley, Joshua R. Hensley, Matthew B. Hensley, Regan B. Hurt and Keontae D. Hurt; and six great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be held on at 1:00p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2020 via Zoom.
