Nancy Preusser

On Monday, March 9, 2020 Nancy Neal Preusser left this earthly residence and stepped into the presence of Jesus. Born in 1952 to the late Jim and Roberta Neal, Nancy was the oldest of seven and spent most of her life in upstate New York, graduating from Taconic Hills High School in 1970 and Gordon College (Boston) in 1974.  In 1979, she married her high school sweet heart and settled down in Martindale, NY until they relocated to Lynchburg, VA in 2007.

Nancy was a devoted member of Martindale Community Gospel Church in NY and Heritage Baptist Church in Lynchburg, serving in various capacities throughout her life. She loved sports, most notable she was an avid fan of Kentucky Wildcat basketball and in more recent years Liberty Flames athletics.

Nancy was also a woman of tremendous hospitality, caring for missions’ groups, college students and anyone else who did not have family close or the ability to travel, especially during holidays. Everyone was welcome in her home, and she had only two simple rules – “make yourself at home, and if you go away hungry it is your own fault.”

Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Ted, her children Jessica, Dan, Tim & Ashley, Philip & Katye, three grandchildren Braxton, Kelsey and Elise, as well as three sisters, numerous sisters and brothers in law, nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate Nancy’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Sports Outreach International, a ministry in which Nancy actively volunteered over the past few years.
