Nancy Margaret Tamaro

Nancy Margaret Tamaro, 85, of Forest, Virginia, passed away in her sleep and woke up in the arms of the Lord on Sunday June 8, 2025. Nancy was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 27, 1939. She is the middle and last remaining sibling of seven children born to the late, Peder and Hanna Gundersen. Nancy married Silvio Christian Tamaro in 1958. They were married 65 years at the time of his death in 2024.

Nancy is survived by her four children, Donna (Jeff), Scott (Joyce), Mark (Beth), Jeffrey (Becky); grandchildren, Tyler, (Armando), Courtney (Kevin), Justin (Katie), Paige, Tanner (Taylor) Cameron (Jenna), Rachel (Zack); and seven great-grandchildren, Riley, Emma, Weston, Everly, Luke, Emery, and Desmond. She enjoyed raising her four children and in later years, time spent with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a born again Christian and very active in her faith. Her great wish was the salvation of her children, family, and friends. Her fondest desire was to be remembered for her love of Jesus Christ.

She enjoyed a long career in accounting and bookkeeping as well as helping her husband with their window cleaning business. She was known for her love of Mahjong and participated in many Mahjong groups.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to Centra Hospice. The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and kind words.

A visitation will be held at Tharp Funeral Home on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at Virginia Memorial Park on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 10:30 AM.
