Naomi C. Jefferson

Naomi Campbell Jefferson, 96, of Amherst, died Sunday February 7, 2021, at Fairmont Crossings Health and Rehab. She was the wife of the late Marvin O. Jefferson, Sr. Born March 27, 1924 in Amherst County, she was the daughter of the late James Claude Campbell and the late Madgie Campbell Campbell.

Mrs. Jefferson was retired from A.H. Robbins (Chapstick Co.) and Campbell Co. school transportation. She was a member of Winfall Baptist Church and a member of the Rebekah Lodge #22 of Madison Heights.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Jefferson was preceded in death by a beloved daughter, Gloria Jean Bishel; six brothers, Harold, Gordon, Rodger, Harmon, Robert and Alfred Campbell; and two sisters, Margaret Cash and Ida Almond.

Mrs. Jefferson is survived by her sons, Marvin (Caren) Jefferson of Madison Heights and CW (Robin) Jefferson of Rustburg; granddaughters, Julie, Andrea, Marie, Michelle; great-grandsons, Alex, Matthew, Tim and great-granddaughter Lily; her sister, Helen C. Hunter and daughter Nadine Lang of Lynchburg as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday Feb. 10, 2021 at Madison Heights Baptist Church by the Rev. Phil Stevens and Rev. Todd Blake. A private interment will follow at Fort Hill Cemetery, Lynchburg.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service from 1 to 2 p.m.

The family would like to thank the staff at Fairmont, especially the nurses on Cedar Ridge, for their care and support in the last nine months.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society or Winfall Baptist Church.
