Nell Holloman Garner

Nell Devone Holloman Garner, 74, of Bedford and formally of Leonardtown, MD, passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at her residence. Born on August 26, 1938 in Sampson, NC; a daughter of the late Willard Luby Holloman and Lucille Flynn Holloman. In addition to her parents Nell was preceded in death by a brother, Buddy Holloman and a great-granddaughter, Claire.

Nell loved and cherished her family. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, cooking and being a real southern woman.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Elwood Rudolph Garner, Sr.; seven children, Kay Shaffier her husband, Steve, Joyce Windsor her husband, Albert, Junior Garner his wife, Susan, Larry Ray \"Mickey\" Garner his wife, Linda, Mary \"Tina\" Francisco her husband, Tony, Lynn Garner his wife, Fran, and Randy Garner; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild due in July of this year; two sisters, Pat Millen and Lillie Headley; also numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Garner\"™s memory to Tharp Funeral Home and Crematory, Bedford towards her funeral expenses, 320 N. Bridge Street, Bedford, VA 24523.

A celebration of Nell\"™s life will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 1, 2013 in Tharp Funeral Chapel with Rev. Donnie G. Glass officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Arrangements by Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford, (540)-586-3443.
