Nina Lee Hunkley, 63, of Lynchburg, died Thursday, April 29, 2010. She was the wife of the late Russell Paul Hunkley. Born Thursday, November 21, 1946 in Elyria, OH, she was a daughter of Elizabeth Helen Farkas Tivner, and the late Clarence Edward Tivner
In addition to her father and her husband, Nina was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Jonathan Hunkley.
In addition to her mother, Nina is survived by her children, Russell Earl Hunkley and his wife, Tabitha, of Lynchburg, Richard Edward Hunkley and his fiancé, Michelle of Appomattox, Jennifer Lynn Shellenbarger and her husband, James, of Medina, OH, nine grandchildren, Rodney Russell Earl Hunkley, Patricia Lynn Shellenbarger, Cynthia Marie Shellenbarger, Kayla Marie Shellenbarger, Kenneth Shellenbarger, Joshua Shellenbarger, Kyle Shellenbarger, Jessica Prowant, and Aimee Lane, a great granddaughter, Hailey Marie Lane, and her sister, Deborah Novak and her husband, John, of Dayton, OH.
Nina will be remembered as a good listener, as well as a very supportive parent. She went out of her way to make sure her children\"™s wishes came true. She loved her dogs like they were her children. She also loved doing crafts, especially scrap booking. Her favorite past time was shopping at the Goodwill Store.
The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 2, 2010 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, May 3, 2010, in Pate Chapel at Thomas Road, with Pastor Jonathan Falwell officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Land Cemetery, Bedford.
