Norma Guill Figg, 88, of Lynchburg, passed away and went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and to be reunited with her husband, Herbert on December 1, 2011. Born February 3, 1923, in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Harvey P. Guill and Mary Odell Wiley.
Norma retired as a switchboard operator from C & P Telephone, Co. She enjoyed gardening and flower arranging. Her family was precious to her; she especially adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Col. Herbert Marion Figg, Jr.; her brother, Linwood Guill; and her sister, Marguerite Zitrow.
Those left to cherish Norma\"™s memory are her daughter, Delores Figg; her son, Ron Figg; two grandchildren, Wayne Figg and wife, Wendy, Amy Harrell and husband, Brian; and five great-grandchildren, Wesley Figg, Lana Figg, Sydney Harrell, Megan Harrell, and Grant Harrell.
Services will be conducted 3:00 pm, Monday, December 5, 2011 at Chestnut Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy J. Bower officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 \"" 3:00 pm.
