Norman Allen Jennings

Norman Allen Jennings, 92, of Concord, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025. He was born on September 18, 1932, to the late Tom and Lula Jennings.

Allen was married to Inez Ward Jennings for 67 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman but really loved to be outdoors. He also enjoyed gardening and watching racing and ball games on tv. Allen served his country in the United States Army earning rank as a Sergeant, there he also earned a culinary certificate. His greatest love was for his wife, family, and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is predeceased by sisters, Louise Carwile and Peggy Roakes; and brothers, Calvin Jennings and Ralph Jennings.

In addition to his loving wife Inez, Allen is survived by his daughter, Sheryl Burkholder (Lee) and son, Jeff Jennings (Lisa); grandchildren, Sherri (JT), Crystal, and Jared (Dana); great-grandchildren, Lily, Brayden, Landon, Kolten, Finley, and Carson; and his sister, Alice Myers.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Rustburg, Va.
