Ollie Lorene Parrish Walton, 86, of Lynchburg, Va., left her earthly home for her heavenly one May 13, 2018. She was the loving wife of Robert Earl Walton for 57 years.
Born Thursday, July 9, 1931 in Lynchburg, Ollie was a daughter of the late Walker Gilmore Parrish and the late Reba Crouch Parrish.
She leaves to cherish her memories three sons, Wendell E. Walton and his wife, Dreamer, of Forest, Robert Earl Walton, Jr., of Limerick, PA, and Michael Pearce Walton and his wife, Wendy, of Gilbertsville, PA,; six grandchildren: Marina Walton, Va., Nikki Guerin, Va., Tara Barker and her husband Marc, PA, Carrie Walton, PA, Michael Walton and his wife Liz, PA, Jon Walton and his wife Amanda, PA, and eight great-grandchildren: Miranda Barker, Dalton Barker, Scarlett Rose Walton, M. J. Walton, Marissa Walton, Allanah Nelligan, Bryce Nelligan, Landon Walton, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ollie was preceded in death by her siblings, Mabel P. Roberts, Walker L. Parrish, Margaret Madeline Parrish, William E. Parrish, and Doris (Toppy) Tyree.
Ollie was a member of Sandusky Baptist Church. Retired from a secretarial position, she spent her life loving and caring for family members and many friends. She always put others first and enjoyed lots of family gatherings over the years. Ollie never met a stranger; she always made everyone feel that they knew her forever and anyone that ever met her said that she was a forever friend. Anytime Ollie met someone for the first time she told them she was a “hugger” and always continued that throughout any relationship. She will be missed by many people that touched her life over the years.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16 at Tharp Funeral Home, 220 Breezewood Dr. Lynchburg, Va. A Service will be conducted on Thursday, May 17 at 10 a.m. at Fort Hill Memorial Park Chapel with Pastor Ed Vogt officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
