Oneeda Elizabeth Underwood Howell, 96, of Lynchburg, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at Westminster Canterbury. She was born on February 13, 1926, in Roanoke to the late Abraham Lincoln and Letitia Craghead Underwood. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Calvin Howell; brother-in-law, Claude Lee and granddaughter-in-law, Beth Jones and nephew, Ricky Cook.

She was a member of Bedford Christian Church. She loved golfing, fishing (especially striper) and doing anything with her husband. She was known for her good cooking. Oneeda’s number one love was her family and spending time with them. She loved to host a party or entertain in general, especially when it involved one of her family members.

Oneeda is survived by children, Stephen Lee Howell and wife, Shannon and Dana Howell Tuck and husband, David; grandchildren, Jason Jones and wife, Rachel, Jody Jones and wife, Christy, Jessica Roberts and husband, Andy, Adam Howell and wife, Katie, Samantha Howell, Sierra Howell; great-grandchildren, Landon Jones, Hailey Jones, Cameron Jones, Parker Jones, Haedyn Wilson, Levi Wilson, Sawyer Wilson, Cooper Roberts, Claire Roberts and Adele Roberts; sister, Glenna Underwood Lee; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Sandra Howell; close family, Ron and Janice Falcone, Penny Lang and Lisa Harris; nieces and nephews, Valerie Holdren, Teressa Dooley, Stephanie Kirkbride, Sharon Smith, Pam Graham and Jeffery Howell and golfing buddies, Pat Fuller, Betty Ray Markham and many others.

A memorial service will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Tharp Funeral Chapel, Bedford with the Rev. Rick Dillinger officiating.
