Oscar Alonzo Tempfel

Oscar Alonzo Tempfel, 80 of Lynchburg, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Virginia Baptist Hospital. He was the loving husband of Hilda Loretta Tempfel for 46 years.

Born Saturday, November 5, 1932 in Boonville, Missouri, he was a son of the late Francis \"Frank\" Oscar Tempfel and the late Katie Troupe Tempfel.

Oscar served his country in the United States Navy, was a retired chemical Technician from Slocum Chemical and was a member of Forest United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter: Tina Tempfel Stanley (Dallas) of Bedford, a brother: Ernest Floyd Tempfel (Karen) of Warsaw, MO, a brother-in-law: Ray Blount (Darlene) of Midlothian, and a granddaughter: Amanda Stanley of Bedford

A Funeral service will be at 5:30 PM on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Forest United Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends from 4:00- 5:30 pm on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Forest United Methodist Church.
