Pamela Garner Carr

Pamela Garner Carr was born on October 13, 1956, in Halifax, VA to the late James Haywood Garner and Arlene Jackson Garner. Our beloved wife, mother, sister and friend entered God’s glory on November 17, 2021.

Pamela grew up in Halifax (Brookneal) then moved to Lynchburg, Va where she graduated from E.C. Glass high school. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degree in Nursing at Lynchburg College.

Pamela was a very spiritual woman and always preached forgiveness and love. Pamela was married to her soulmate Thomas J. Carr for 47 years. In that union two children were born Troy L. Carr (Sherissee) and Kaitlyn G. Carr.

Pamela always wanted to be a nurse and God gave her, her dream. Through hard work, dedication and help from her husband she became a beautiful and kind nurse, nursing instructor and hospice nurse. Always kind, loving and giving good advice to those who needed it.

She leaves to cherish her memory a son Troy L. Carr (Sherissee); a daughter Kaitlyn G. Carr; four grandchildren D’edra M.Carr, Joshua D. Carr, Jacob D. Carr and Jeremiah D. Carr; four brothers and sisters James A. Garner (Miriam) of Lynchbrug, VA, Clyde V. Garner (Sharonetta) of Rocky Mount, NC, Lisa Garner of Charlotte, NC, Sonva Garner of Charlotte, NC. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Tharp Funeral, Lynchburg, VA.
