Pamela Jean Crosby passed away peacefully in her home at Smith Mountain Lake September 2, 2014, after a short battle with cancer. She was 70 years old.
She was born to the late William and Helen Stuart of Milwaukee, WI, December 7, 1943. She married the love of her life, Guy Crosby, on June 27, 1964. They built their life together raising three children in Herndon, VA. They enjoyed their retirement years in their beautiful home at Smith Mountain Lake, VA.
Pamela was a devoted wife and mother while working as an executive assistant and secretary. Her final and most rewarding position before retiring was Church Administrator at Lewinsville Presbyterian Church in McLean, VA. She spent her life proudly caring for and loving all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved watching them grow up and excel in all their different endeavors. She welcomed everyone with open arms and was often called a second mother to so many. Her love for cooking was always evident in her home and she never turned away a mouth that needed to be fed. She loved her dogs unconditionally and always provided them with a safe, loving home. In her retirement years, she remained actively involved in her church at Trinity Ecumenical Parish, enjoyed her love of reading and the beauty of the natural surroundings of the lake. She was always happiest entertaining her family and friends.
Pamela is survived by her husband, Guy Crosby, her two sisters, Bonnie Honn of Mukwonago, WI and Linda Tombari of New Berlin, WI; her three children and their spouses, Scott Crosby (Julie) of Ashburn, VA, Joel Crosby (Holly) of Plymouth, MA and Jennifer Ryanczak (Matt) of Bainbridge Island, WA, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and four nieces. Her beautiful spirit and generosity will forever live in the hearts and memories of her family and many friends. She will be missed by all.
Memorial Services will be held Friday, September 26, 2014, at Trinity Ecumenical Parish in Moneta, VA at 2:00PM.
