Pamela Louise Pierce, 62, of Smith Mountain Lake in Moneta, Virginia, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 3, 2016.  She went home to be with her Lord and Savior.

Born in Arlington, Virginia, she was a loving wife of forty five years to her husband, Phillip Michael Pierce, Sr., and a wonderful mother to her daughter and son.

In addition to her husband, she leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter Vanessa Joan Silversmith, her son: Phillip Michael Pierce Jr, her mom: Joan Doyle Powell, step-father: Hugh Powell; two sisters: Kathy Marie Witten, Terry Margaret Phillips; her brother: David Peyton Nicolas; daughter- in- law: Kirsten Pierce; son in law: Glenn Silversmith, four grandchildren: Douglas Merriom Bailey, Alyssa Joan Bailey, Phillip Michael Pierce III,  Nathan Stewart Pierce, and two great- grandchildren.

Pam is preceded in death by her father: Clarence Peyton Nicholas; step-father; Hugh Powell; and her grandparents.

Pam retired from Scitor, located in Chantilly, Virginia, leaving behind many friends and coworkers.  She loved going out on the boat in Smith Mountain Lake with her family, traveling, going to the beach, reading books and spending time with her family, her grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and many friends.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to nursing staff and therapists at Blue Ridge Cancer Care.  We would also like to thank Dr. Daniel S. Temeles for the loving care of my wife and mother.  We would also like to extend our appreciation to the nursing staff at Good Samaritan Hospice for all of the care they provided at a time so desperately needed.

The family will have a service and receive friends in northern Virginia. Time and place will be announced.
