Parmly Burridge Johnson, Sr., 74, of Lynchburg, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 30, 2011.
Born March 27, 1937 in Harrisburg, PA. He is survived by his wife Jane Montgomery Johnson of 42 years.
His parents preceded his death, as well as his sister, Dorothy J. Snyder.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman. He was retired from Centra Health. A mason with Hill City Lodge #183 and was of the Episcopal faith.
Also surviving are daughters, Jessica J. Creammer and husband, John of Monroe, Erica P. Johnson and partner Tammy Johnson of Knoxville,TN; a son, Parmly B. Johnson, Jr of Lynchburg and daughter, Martha K. Tedder of Asheville, NC; two grandsons, William E. Sweat, Jr., and Nathaniel C. Sweat of Monroe; a niece, Anne Hill Snyder and partner Amber Vellenga of Richmond; and a nephew Dr. & Mrs. Christopher Snyder III of Concord, NC.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at a later date.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 2, 2011 from 6:00 \"" 8:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, 220 Breezewood. Drive, Lynchburg.
